Q: P4VMM2 LAN issue

Hi,
need some help with the P4VMM2.
onboard LAN doesn`t work. It`s detected by BIOS
and or Sytem (Win2k, Suse 8.2, Knoppix 3.4) but
there is no Link activity, the port at the router
sticks dark. ping by itself fails.
CMOS, new BIOS-file uploaded, deactivated any
other o.B. features - no changes

diag Tools (Driver-CD) shows following result:
MAC registers rd/wrt ok
EEPROM rd/wrt ok
MII port registers rd/wrt ok
MII flow contr. rd/wrt ok

IRQ connect fails
Internal Loopback fails
RD/TD handling fails
MAC adress match logic fails
Cable link fails

first window in diag shows

I/O Base Adress - 0xD800
Interrupt Output Line - IRQ 5
Connection Type - Auto - No Link
Boot ROM - FlashROM
Ethernet Adress - 000AE620ABDF
Chip Type - VT6102

Ehernet Adress at first diagrun was not the
same No. like on the label near port (changed with eeprom.exe
from AB0E to ABDF)

any hints?
