Yes, it happened again on my K7S5a rev 3.1 MB.
It happens just after checking the drives (all were recognized properly).
What I noticed this time was that the cpu speed was noted correctly on that
first screen (when it was first recognized) but by the time it finished
checking the drives and getting the CMOS error, the cpu speed was back down
to its 100MHz FSB speed (that's what it said when I immediately went into
the BIOS).
I just thought I would mention this for those that might be able to use this
info in their quest to solve the problem.
This has happened twice in the last month alone, even though I now use a
battery backup.
It only has happened on a cold boot after the PC sat off all night. The
indoor temp was 62F at this time.
Yep, I know that since this is an older board, I should just replace it and
that would solve the problem.
