Install Win7 or XP?

Hi Community,

I'm formatting a friends computer that has XP on and I'm wondering if I should install Win7 as his system just meets the requirements?
The machine is a 2Ghz Intel E2180 on an Intel DG 33BU MB with 64mb onboard graphics and 1Gig system RAM.

Would XP or 7 be a better bet for this machine? It is used for office work, browsing and popcap games...

i would not run Win7 with less then 2GB of ram

If you don't plan on making any hardware changes then that system would be most stable with Windows XP. I highly recommend you stick with that.

Kept getting the "IRQL_not_less_or_equal" error during the install so went with 7 just to see. It installed without troubles and is going strong so far...

Get your friend to order another stick of ram.

+1 on the ram, will make a nice little W7 workstation for web browsing and email, gaming out of the question with onboard video.
