Hello all,
I have a few questions that I hope you guys can help me with. I didn't
get a reply from ECS, probably because of the age of the board in question.
I have an ECS P6IWP-Fe motherboard (PCB rev 2.0) with a Celeron 667
(66MHz FSB) and am unsure of the CPU support.
My old BIOS version was 1.0f indicating that it's a 4Mb Bios, so I
updated it to version 1.2 which is the latest 4Mb Bios on the website
(http://www.ecsusa.com/downloads/p6iwp_fe_2x.html).
However, on the CPU table web page for Pentium 3
(http://www.ecsusa.com/support/table_p3.html) it states that the 100
and 133 MHz bus speeds are supported since Bios version 2.1.
So...
Is the P6IWP-Fe with Bios 1.2 able to support 133MHz Bus PIII CPUs
(For example 1GHz PIII S-SPEC SL52R, stepping cD0, family 068A)?
Is the P6IWP-Fe with Bios 1.2 able to be flashed with the 2Mb Bios
versions (eg. Version 2.1)?
And finally does the P6IWP-Fe motherboard support Tualatin based
(0.13 micron) CPUs at all?
Also, I just got a small 1RU 150 watt power supply, and was wondering if
that's enough to run this board with a 1GHz PIII CPU (if it's possible),
a hard disk, and cd-rom. Any idea?
btw this power supply is missing the -5v line, but I heard that MicroATX
boards don't need it. Is this true?
