The System: P4 3 GHz; 256 MB RAM (Infineon; CL3); elitegroup 661FX-M

My problem with the system is that almost every Application crashs with a
access violation in the memory, i tried a BIOS update and changed the RAM
(to a Corsair XMS 512 MB CL2),
what else could be the reason for this Problem, are there any drivers from
SIS or Elitegroup witch i could try?
