I bought a ECS KT600-a motherboard and a AMD Sempron 2400 (Frys bundle
$59.95). After assembly it booted fine but would give me a sysdata.xl
error at bootup occasionally. It also wouldnt play any games (rebooted
the system every time) but would run browser and email just fine. I
updated to v1.0F bios from 1.0E and immediately noticed it failed to
identify my 2400 Sempron and the reported temps rose upward to 60C! I
still had the reboots and occasional sysdata.xl errors on bootup.

Then I noticed on 12/21/04 ECS updated to the 1.2C bios. I flashed the
bios and rebooted. Immediately noticed that the Chip was correctly
identified. Upon bootup noticed the temps where now 34C (acceptable) and
now I could play any games with no reboots!!

Whatever they did in the 1.2C bios update seemed to fix all the problems
I had with this motherboard. This is posted to help anyone else who may
have had this problem with the KT600-a motherboard.
