Good morning All,
My PC with newly installed XP-Pro and SP2 keeps running ChjDsk at startup.
A week ago, when I finished a new installation of XP Pro, SP2 and a lot of
other software, I ran Defragmentation on C and D partitions of the first
hard drive (0). At some 30% of the D partition the program got stuck.
Keyboard, mouse, etc gave no reaction. I pushed the reset button and
restarted the PC. After the initial screen ChkDsk started and verified the D
partition, found nothing and continued to load XP. Each time I start my PC,
since then, ChkDsk is ran on the D partition and found nothing. What have I
done wrong? I like to get rid of this anoying ChkDsk. Any ideas?
Thanks for your suggestions.

Go to Start > Run and type: CMD , and hit enter. Then type in:
chkntfs /x d: , and hit enter. Reboot your computer.

[This disables CHKDSK from running on drive D:]

Dear Carey,
Thank you for your help. Works fine now. I could not have guessed that
CHKNTFS could fix a CHKDSK problem.
Again thanks for your help.
Have a nice day,
Opa.
