I sit back and watch all these riots going on in many of the arab or muslim countries against the west or western ideas. Even some in the western countries. (Not only the cartoon thing ) copies of the Muslim holy book were found lying in a drain in the Bhatta chowk area. abu ghraib beatings etc...

Qatar, within hours of Katrina in the US, donated $100 million to the US.

I don't believe there have been too many protests in Saudia Arabia or that whole pennisula.

Where are we seeing the violence? Pakistan & Iran mainly. Afghanistan from what I've seen has died down.

Iran, anti-western, has people inciting these. Pakistan is over run with former taliban and Bin Laden/AQ supporters.. thus, the riots against the western culture.

History will tel the truth. In the past, the US and other countries have pulled out to leave them alone.. which only caused problems. We stay and we're staying now. Yet, it's still causing problems. But this way, something hopefully comes out of it.

but i would like to mention the hypocracy of some of the things you are noticing. you are seeing things aimed at you, so are reacting, but you are not seeing the other direction.

both sides of the argument are stirring shit, and this is causing 'more' tension. untill both sides realise they are stirring shit, and are not better than the other side, we will get nowhere.

for all the car crashes, robberies, and violent attacks i have seen on the news, i have never in my life seen a real one of them.

i was involved in a protest. 99.9% of people went home. about 20 people at the end had a punch up with the police. guess what made the news.... it certainly wasn't the 99.9% of people.

i am sick of all this Anti-muslim shit that everyone is throwing around the place. and i am sick of the News focusing on the Anti-western minority.

it doesn't help the world go round at all.

Right on. Kuwait also donated $500 million in oil as well. It didn't really help, but it's the thought that counts I guess.

A clear distinction should be made between countries like UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Yemen, and to some degree Jordan and Pakistan. Generally speaking, it's the non democractic muslim countries that are the biggest pain in the ass. Saudia Arabia has been called an ally- and they are to some degree. But their government is far, far from democratic. This is why Islamic Extremists are prevalent there. (in my opinion anyways)

I think the best way to find out why Muslims (the minority across the world BTW) hate the US, is to ask them why.

find some academics who are in a position to actually reply and know what they are talking about, people who can speak objectively and not subjectively, then you will have your best chance of an answer.

we will "never" reach peace till we talk and communicate. violence leads to violence, but talking and really listening to what people are having issues with is likely to calm them down.

We were having huge issues with our University, conflict didn't work, so we started talking to the lecturers and discussing what we disliked. they recently made a bad decision that pissed off the students, most students wrote a petition saying they were pissed off (didn't really say why) i emailed the lecturer saying "why" they were pissed off, in an objective manner.

they instantly changed their decision based on the real reaons and not the symptoms.

nobody will ever have peace and ignore the other side.

i eat meat also. funnily enough for every 1Kg of beef you eat, you produce 10Kg of greenhouse gases. vegitarians are good in stopping that.... but meat is so tasty.

Unfortunately, a) i never knew that this place was involved with horse racing and b) i'm personally not very interested in horse racing, it would nice to at least see one race at some point in my life though....
