I got K7VTA3 version 8.0 motherboard. I have problem running PC2700
256MB memory. I tried 3 different brandname that same speed and size
and I got the hardware error from Windows XP.
when I try PC2100 with 128MB I got no problem at all.
Does anyone know about this?

The K7VTA manual recommends that you use the same speed memory
as the FSB of the CPU you're using. If you have a 333mhz CPU, then
you would use PC2700 (333).

I'm guessing that you have a 266mhz CPU. In just about every mobo
on the planet, you can use faster memory without a prob.
