K7vta2 Ver2.2
Using XP
After I got this board second hand and got it mostly running I could
not get the onboard sound working with the latest downloaded drivers..
(I don't have original CD.)
After giving up I have fitted a PCI sound card and disabled the
onboard sound via the BIOS.
Unistalled all sound drivers and devices then installed the new card
and it's drivers...
.... and I still can Not get any sound from the system.
Everything looks OK. However as a test I tried to record an internal
stream... I can see a wave form but no sound is being routed through
the stereo mixer (used here as a patch between an mp3 player and a
sound recording application).....
I am 100% sure I have installed card, speakers & drivers correctly.
Someone did mention a jumper for front or rear sound might be missing
but I can not find any such jumper mentioned in the mobo manual...
Anyone got any ideas as I'm about to throw this board out
I can't accept that just the sound subsystem on the board has broken
as everything on the mobo is working exactly as it should???
