Diablo 2 expansion installation problems

Hello,
I loaded Diablo2...when I put in my expansion disk, it tells me to load Diablo 2 first....any ideas??? Help

Make sure Diablo2 will run. You may need to run the vidtest.exe in the program directory first, in order to set the correct video mode. Once that's done, then install the LOD expansion.
