I keep getting this message and I don't know how to get rid of it. Can
anyone help me? I'm sort of new to this whole computer thing so please
make it easy to follow and understand.

"Notify icons" are those icons that appear in the
notification area on the right side of the toolbar,
beside the clock. It was called the "system tray" in the
past.

The easiest way to find what is not starting is to make a
list of the ones that do appear - leaving the mouse
pointer over each for a moment will pop up a balloon to
identify it. Then click "start", "run...", and
type "msconfig". On the "startup" tab is a list of the
programs that try to start when you start Windows. You
should be able to match up the existing icons with some
of the program names (use your imagination.) You can
uncheck the others, in groups or individually, and reboot
to determine which one is causing your error. (Be aware
that unchecking each program will cause *something* to
not work right while it is unchecked, but Windows will
still boot okay.) When you find and identify the culprit,
reinstalling is a good place to start... if it is a
program you want.
