Hi people,

I seem to have a prob with my m/b at the moment..........when I turned it on
this morning, it wouldn't boot up...all I got was a continuous 2 beep tone
(it sounded like a cop siren)...the led on the m/b said CF??, but when I
rebooted it said FF, but still with the high/low beeping.........so, has the
board died??....if not, any ideas?
Thanks,
Gorzzz

First try cycling power to the system. Try clearing the cmos.

Look closely at the capacitors on the board. Thes are the cylinder shaped
objects that have metalic tops. Are the tops flat or are they bluging? Do
any of them have a tan or brown colored subtance on top?

Ok. Do this. Disconnect the power cord. Set the clear cmos jumper to
clear. Take out the battery. Disconnect all drives. take out all
expansion cards (if any). Remove cpu and ram and video card. Put cpu,
video card and one stick of ram back in. Put battery back in. Set the
clear cmos jumper back to the normal position. Plug the power cord back in
and try to boot. Stll no go? Try another stick of ram. Then try another
cpu. Still no go? Could be a scrambled bios or bad motherboard.

One other thing. If none of the previous works try this. Turn on power
while holding down the insert key. If you get a screen, release the insert
aand hit del to go into bios and load fail safe settings. There is also a
jumper on the board called the JCLK. Try with it removed.
