what do you think the fx 5xxx arent even worth stealing and i should know!
THAT IS A HORRIBLE PRICE FOR A SUB 50" PLASMA!!!
You could get a 50" pioneer Elite for less then that.....And you could get 2 37" panasonics the 60U's when they hit the market soon.
lol i dont know if i would even take one for free.... 8O

they are not worth even stealin i know they cost 50 in bestbuy the only reason they stock them is just for pp who are cheap!
I still think they were better off with Fedex than UPS. I have not been happy with their UPS ground shipping. I have heard that Fedex wants back in there fro ground shipping.

why do you think fedex had good business with them until they wanted more for 3-day shipping then they got ups and now everything is f'ed up my corsair ram got to me in 3 days thats good but the package was dented but everything worked so no problem
thank you
From what I hear, thats not what happened. I heard from some people that "work" for Fedex, that UPS came into newegg and undercut Fedex's prices, so Neweeg Switched. And everything i have ordered since then has taken longer than I have come to to expect from Newegg.

Love that sig ...
As far as Newegg, I ordered a scanner on a Wednesday, it shipped from Tenn. (to FL) and the stated shipping time was 2 days ... so Friday I guessed. I traced it and found that it arrived at the local UPS site on Thursday night, but did they deliver on Friday? No. They don't do weekends, and their union recognized the following Monday as a holiday, so I got the scanner on Tuesday about 4:45pm. It sat 9 miles from me from Thursday night till the following Tuesday. Totally unacceptable.
Thats almost the same type of thing I've seen. My order gets to the local UPS site and SITS there. It used to be that there was no reason to upgrade shipping with Newegg, since it was like 3-4 days anyway. Now its all a mess.
no hergie newegg aint sell outs they would never do that!
Your being idealistic here. Most companies will do anything to save/make a few extra dollars. They don't see it as selling out, but as decreasing their bottom line.
You should never say a company will never do something, because you just never know
ya hergie your right man all companies are sellouts
I looked through that last week. Pretty cool stuff. 2 day turn around from any company would be a miracle.

Yes, it would be a miracle, however, If you've ordered from newegg, you know what I am talking about. I had many orders that I placed on Monday and had by Thursday or Friday at the latest.
I'd like to turn dvdpiddy loose in there and then lock all the doors from the outside.

You are correct. I 'work' for FedEx. UPS is still sitting on billions...that's a B...
from their ipo in the late 90's. They're going into places and low bidding like
crazy even to the point of losing money just to add volume. But, if you read
the comment's in Newegg, lot's of complaints about them. The guy across the
street from me works for UPS and they have a person who's job is to simply
repackage distroyed stuff.
I've noticed some of my old Newegg regular's have started paying extra to use us again.
I may be biased though...
thanks for the link dvd.

I definately beleive it. I've only seen one slightly damaged package (crushed corner), but they are defintately slower. I haven't got to the pooint of paying extra for fedex yet, but they, I also haven't ordered from them in a few weeks (no play money for that)

Word is bond. They defintely have a good system. I've never seen inside one of those places before and it was real interesting to see how they tag the bins and they find their own way to the merchandise. But to be certain, a person still have to take a product and put it into the bin, right? If they could automate that. Woosh.

sicko i never do that!
Hi Everybody!!!
Well, as a UPS employee, here's what I can tell you... (I will see what I can remember, as I have been drinking...)
UPS is not the company that goes in and undercuts prices... That would be DHL. We may offer UPS ground for less than FedEx 3 day air, but service for service, we don't undercut. We are usually a few dollars more, as we (claim to) have better service.
Yes, we do have people whos job is solely to repack stuff that breaks open, but some of that is due to the way it is packed, and some of it is our fault. If you pack a box well and tape it well, it will be fine. Additionally, the building I work out of delivers roughly 70K - 100K per day (I don't remember off the top of my head, I've been drinkin!), and our peak day last year was 163K pieces... So, if we have a .01% damage rate, that would still be 160 for our building...
Finally, I don't remember my last point, because alcohol tastes so good, but UPS vs. FedEx really comes down to personal preference and the stories you hear from others... I have never had a package lost or damaged, but I know it does happen...
Well, undercut or not, I don't really care. What I care about is their shipping is slower than it was for the same cost.
Yeah, FedEx drivers are non union and make on average $7 less per hour than UPS drivers... Kinda hard to eat those costs... Obviously they had a reason to add UPS, I am guessing that FedEx wasn't holding up to their end of the deal. I've had some issues with FedEx, but nothing that would prevent me from having something shipped by them if it was my only option...
Besides, as the article states, NewEgg has a bunch of warehouses now, so soon, they will likely be able to hit most addresses within 2 days with us... Yeah, if I order from Cali, it takes 5 days.... But if it comes from east coast or KY or TN or something, it's like 2 days...
I didn't know about UPS drivers being union. ( I used to be in a union myself).
I don't necesarrily have an issue with UPS. Like I said before, I've only got one packed slightly damaged (crushed corner), no big deal. I want the delivery tme to get back to where it was though. I am impatient and don't like waiting. Especially since I am thinking of buying a new Opteron 165 or 170 with my year end bonus.
Well, I just threw a whole PC in my cart... Here's the shipping prices...
FedEx Saver (3 day?) - $44.37
2 Day - $45.83
1 Day - $44.36 (I'm starting to see a FedEx issue)
UPS 3 Day - $19.99
UPS 2 Day - $27.72
UPS 1 Day - $40.27
So, UPS 2 day is CHEAPER than FedEx 3 day? Interesting...
On to the beer!!!
hey jeff why you buying a new pc?
| Quote : Yeah, FedEx drivers are non union and make on average $7 less per hour than UPS drivers... |
Not quite $7. But, they work a lot harder. Heheh. I get paid good
money to drive like an a$$hole. Just kidding...kinda'.
The pay/retirement difference will hurt UPS in the long run as we are
we are beginning to see with GM, Ford, etc.

So you are saying that you like the idea of having less pay/retirement so that company is round longer and don't mind having to struggle more while "enjoying" retirement?
Pay and retirement are often a lot less of a burden than companies would have you believe. Do some research on USAir if you are interested to know what I am talking about.
No, no no silly. Although pay/retirement are big factors, fuel is
obviously the biggest now. But, it does all add up. I'm happy with
my pay/retirement, of course we always want more. I'm there mostly
for the benefits, my wife makes the dough 'round my house.
As for USAir, consider this huge difference. While they may have a
few hundred people at each airport, UPS has a few people in every
town, city, and in most countries around the world. It adds up. Quickly.
I believe UPS has many, many more aircraft than USAir, just to start.
Both FedEx and UPS are both very strong right now, and sadly with constant downsizing and the exporting of jobs, their strengths should only grow. More money in international than Cali to Boston.
Pisser that is...
I see.
What I meant by USAir is that they went bankrupt twice, blamed it on their employees (when the TOTAL salary for all employees was like 33% of their yearly losses), go the unions to take a huge pay cut, then turned around and gave the amount of the paycut as bonuses to their execs. All while moving vital operations out of the country and forcing their middle-management to train their own replacements in South America.
My point was that a lot of these companies that say they are in trouble from paying out benefits to employees are full of it.

could'nt agree more hergie
poor employees they have to take alot of sh!it from their bosses and get f**ked even if they do comply
Actually, to be 100% honest, by the time I retire, I think retirement and
social security will be almost a moot point we'll all be so screwed.
It's the american way. Looking past your nose and using logic is not
allowed.
As George Carlin said, "These baby-boomers went from 'love is all
you need' to whoever winds up with the most toys wins' and 'give me
that it's mine'".

Too True. Pretty much yuor only chance now is to play your money right in the stock market.
Either way-it's a gamble.
Absolutely.
Nice Sig.
Thanks. You notice these things when you stop and look around... 8O
