Has FIC gone belly up? I've not heard or seen anything about modern FIC
motherboards in a long time.

My last 503+ finally died. The board was always problematic, even when new
though. I was thinking of picking up another VA503+ if the price was right,
but I can't find a single supplier for even one board. Oh well. Looks like
my baby AT case will finally be seeing the inside of a garbage can.

Nice to see Kyle still posts here.

If you or anyone else is interested, I have a working VA-503+ (Revision
1.2A, E:4502).  Includes the original box, manual, CD, PS/2 mouse &
printer riser, COM1 & COM2 riser.  It does not have the USB riser.

Before retirement, it was running an AMD K6-2 500 CPU with the JE 4333
BIOS installed.

Just pay the shipping (from Canada) and it's yours.
Shipping costs would be under $20.00 CDN to the continental US.
(I accept PayPal if that helps any).

If anyone is interested, reply here or contact me : brad dot clarke at

They come up on ebay quite regularly, in the UK at least.
And I know a computer shop in Gloucester UK who still have one or two,
or they did quite recently, but they were still listed at their original
expensive price of about 75 UK Pounds. I am fairly confident though,
that I could get the price knocked down to something a bit more
realistic.

Actually, if you go to their main Taiwan website ( http://www.fic.com.tw
), you will see that they have a fair number of current products.  Their
US website ( http://www.fica.com ) seems pretty dated, though.

It seems that FIC is moving its focus away from motherboards.  Instead,
they seem to be more active in SFF systems, tablet PCs, etc.
