My system now boots and works, BUT there is a 3 minute wait once
the bios finishes it's checking, and before the hard drive starts
going and windows xp boots.

My settings now are:
SATA/RAID/SCSI Boot Order ---> set to "SATA"
First Boot Device ---> SCSI
Second Boot Device ---> None
Third Boot Device ---> None

I also tried setting all the devices to none, and to my surprise
it still worked!! After the 3 minute delay of course!
I even tried setting the boot order setting to SCSI and it still
worked, after 3 minutes delay again.
No settings make any difference, it always works after the
3 minute delay.

I have my IDE raid turned off, and ide 3/4 is also turned off.
My DVD is primary master ide1. Serial ATA setting is for RAID.

My Hardware is:
Gigabyte GA-8INXP motherboard revision 1.0, BIOS F5 (w/ SiI3112A chipset)
Intel 3.06 P4 with Hyperthreading
1 Gig Corsair DDRAM TWINX1024-3200LLPT (2 sticks of 512 each)
ATI Radeon 9700pro
Sony DVD Burner (dru-500a)
2 IBM Hitachi Deskstar 7K250 250GB Serial ATA drives

I just don't get it, seems like no matter what settings I have it
works, but after the 3 minute delay. I can access the DVD and my raid-0
setup once the system is booted.

I downloaded all the latest drivers off the gigabyte site and updated
the MB bios as well.

Any ideas ??

I had to dump my Radeon 9700 Pro...there is a known bug in the E7205 chipset
that causes problems with this graphics card.

Rebuild your RAID array, change the stripe size...try one SATA drive in BASE
mode, troubleshoot....no joy, RMA.

Scott I though you beat this problem.
Did you ctrl-S into the RAID BIOS and check that one drive is PM and the
other SM. Has the strip size or anything changed?

What got me curious now is I wonder if this is a drive problem.
When it hangs for 3 minuets, what is on the screen?
What I'm getting at is, is this a Desktop Management problem ( DMI )?

I'm confused, single what? SATA only allows one drive per cable.

It wasn't my post... I thought one of us was confused, I just wanted to
find out which one :)
