My XP Pro SP2 build has 7 meg of unallocated clusters. I discovered it
using Powerquest Drive Image 7.0 to copy the drive, unsuccessfully I might
add due to the unallocated clusters. I was however able to do the job as
back-up image & restore the image to the new hard drive.

Out of some intense curiosity, maybe the experts might now what those
unallocated clusters are..... ?

If it is at the end of the drive/partition, then Win2k/XP reserves 7-8mb by
default as unallocated - it is reserved in case you convert the
drive/partition from a basic disk to a dynamic disk.
