After installing SP2 my net adapters dissapears from the device manager. I
try to connect to AOL via a broadband connection and the program can not find
any connectivity devices however I am able to surf the net using Internet
explorer. WHY AM I UNABLE TO SEE MY NETWORK ADAPTERS AT ALL? There are no
updated drivers for the NIC, I have "Automatic Update" active. What am I
missing? This is very frustrating.

Try the Add New Hardware Wizard in the Control Panel. You may need to
direct the drivers to the original ones.
