Hi, I have read through alot of post and decided that I would be better to
post this question
I have a system which has been infected with a lot of virus, trojens,
worms... The cd-rom and dvd stopped working, I can see them in device manager
and it says they are working fine, when i put a cd in i get the message that
the file system is corrupt or not windows compatable(in dvd rom)and blank cd
in the cdrw. I can populate these drive through the device properties and it
show them as MBR and gives me the true size. I have removed both these drives
and and put a single new CDRW in and i get the same response of the above
cdrw and I have tried 2 new drives. I am thinking it is a software issue and
removed all cd burning progs (never had direct cd on) this issue was
happening b4 I upgraded to SP2 thinking this might solve this issue but it
did not. I am running XP pro. I have seen this error occur on @ least 2 other
systems to which the only option after a a repair installed failed was a full
format and install... any help please TIA

cheers
