I’m having an integrated sound problem with this board. Every time I
email Gigabyte, I get an answer that is short, blunt, and not very
explanatory, and the way they’re worded gives the impression that they
do not speak the same language that I do.

The Microsoft UAA Bus driver has to be installed before the C-Media
High Definition driver for onboard sound. These drivers are on the
Gigabyte CD, however, Windows XP automatically installs the MS UAA Bus
driver when XP is installed, or when you uninstall it from Device
Manager and reboot. So, I installed C-Media but have no sound,
however, I DO have some popping in my speakers as though it’s trying
and I DO get sound in the speaker test that C-Media installs, but I
have no system sounds. I have tried uninstalling both C-Media and the
MS UAA Bus driver, rebooting, Windows reinstalls the MS UAA bus
driver, I reinstall C-Media - still no sound.

Any suggestions? Is there an exact procedure I should be following to
uninstall and reinstall these in the correct order?

Thanks! :)
