I am experiencing a weird problem. If I start FarCry, and enter an online game, I average around 40-85 FPS, which is acceptable at 1024*768. After about 20 minutes of gaming, it starts to slow down, and i am getting FPS in the 20's. Even if I drop to 800*600, there is no difference. I know the comp is not overheating, cause if I leave Multiplayer and go into Campaign, my FPS go right back up again. My temps for my CPU are 44 C on the CPU, and 16 C in the case. BTW, I am running patch 1.1.

funny... sounds almost like a memory leak.... im assuming a reboot solves the problem? do u have any sort of an app running in the background? and isnt farcry at version 1.2 now?

The 1.2 patch was retracted.

On topic: definitely sounds like a memory leak, but more people should experience that then. May also be a networking code issue?

There were some severe problems with it. It's explained on the FarCry website.

Well, if I close Multiplayer and go into Campaign then back to Multiplayer without closing FarCry all together, it still does it. If I close FarCry all together, and restart it, then all is good. What do you mean by a memory leak?

Are you sure it's not the server you are playing on? Or your network connection?

memory leak is where a program requests memory so it can perform a function. The memory assigned is flagged as non usable by other programs (to prevent two programs attempting to grab it. Once the requesting program finishes what its doing it removes the flag from the memory therefore making it available for other programs to use. Now if the program in question tho doesnt remove the flag then that memory is leaked as no other program can use it. Now say if the initial programs runs and stops many times and each time leaks a bit of memory after a period of time u will see for example the game/application slow down as the pc loses more and more of its memory resources as a result stopping the program all together and restarting it will solve the problem.... i dunno tho i havent seen any memory leak probs about farcry but u saying that a restart will solve the problem sounds exactly like a memory leak..

Well, in answer to your question, I have tried under numerous servers with the same results. Also, I doubt its my DSL connection, as my pings are pretty steady. Around 95-110. My DSL is a 1.54 MB download, and 320 KB upload. It handles FarCry with no problem. Maybe a updated patch would fix the problem. I really don't know. Thanks for your opinions.

The problem has been solved. Updated to Patch 1.3, and all is good. Played for an hour, and was getting 75+ FPS. Its so nice now, so smooth. Guess that did the trick. Oh BTW, I even tried reformatting when I set up my RAID 0 configuration, and that did not work. So it was definetly a glitch in the program.
