I am building a new computer around a GA-8KNXP U-64 and have not found any SCSI
DVD drives - all now seem to be IDE, I am looking at a Plextor 12X DVD+RW/-RW
Drive, Model PX-712A. If all my HD's are SCSI would I set the DVD drive as
master or slave? It will be the only IDE drive in the computer and should I use
IDE1 on the MB as I have no IDE HD connected or should I use IDE2?

Thanks,

Your only DVD drive should be set as master, and connected
to IDE1.

My 2 cents.

If you're willing to spend some extra dough, there are DVD-RW compatible
ATAPI-to-ultra2SCSI adapters at www.addonics.com might find others too
but that's what currently comes to mind.
Other than, if you connect it to the IDE ports, that it shouldn't make
much different which controller (primary or secondary) it's on, but it's
still best to connect it as primary master.
