I am having some problems with my two rewritable drives, one is DVD and the
other is CD. I need to clean the lens. Are there any cleaning kits out
there to clean these drives? I have been looking, but I am not sure which
products are safe.

Any comments will be appreciated.

Thanks!

Go to any record store or RadioShack. get a CD cleaning disc. It's
basically a CD with small brushes attached and should help.

Hi Peter,

Have you tried any of these products yourself? I have never tried anything
like that, but one or more of my optical drives came with instructions
against using any of them.

I wonder what makes the OP think that a dirty lens is the cause of whatever
problem they are having????...They didn't say. Since there is a problem with
both disks, I would have to wonder if they don't have another problem.

I haven't tried them on my PC drives yet. They really are for DVD/CD
Players. It might be a good idea to check with your nearest PC shop.

Thanks Peter, but that was a facetious question. I don't think it is a good
idea to use the "cleaners" and the last place I would check is with a "PC
shop".

The OP probably has a problem other than dirty lenses. They didn't give any
indication as to what their problem was. So, who could possibly offer an
intelligent solution?
