hp psc 750 won't copy or scan

Hi, I have looked at old newsgroup items and used the hp site and nothing is
helping. They both worked fine for awhile. Now I get the message Warming up
when I try to copy anythning. It doesn't help to plug it in to a wall
outlet. When I try to scan anything I get scanner failure and am told to
turn scanner off and then on again. I have uninstalled and reinstalled
multiple times without success. There I get an error that the Java virtual
machine can't be found, class not registered. I hjave checked and it is
working fine on my machine. The printer is working without problem. Any
suggestions?
