Hey all,

Ok, a friend of mine has a 160 gig external firewire Maxtor
harddrive. He has about 50 gigs of music on it. It has always worked
fine. Now, since service pack 2 was installed, the computer won't
allow him to access the drive. It says that there is a problem and
that the drive should be formatted. Also, there is an exclamation
point by it in device manager. When he connects via USB 2.0, the
exclamation point is gone -- but windows XP Service pack 2 will still
not allow access to the drive. The drive was never jolted or moved,
so i am assumming it's a software conflict somewhere. Should we try
different ports on the computer? is this a known issue with XP SP 2?
I have seen other posts on this, but no answers.... Thanks a TON in
advance....
