Hello,
I have a ga-7dxr motherboard and two 160gb ATA hard discs. I flashed
the bios to f10, which supports large discs and reports them as being
160gb. I use windows 2000 which reports the discs as being 128gb. I
thought this was the windows limitation, so I added the key to the
registry and downloaded sp4. The discs are still reported as 128gb.
Then I read the mobo manual, it says that raid will support discs up
to 128gb. The windows limit is I believe 137gb, not 128gb. if this was
the windows problem, it should report them as 137gb not 128gb. I now
think it is the raid drivers causing this problem.
I cannot find newer drivers on the gigabyte site. Are there any?
Does promise, the makers of the raid, have a web site so I can
download drivers or contact them about this?
Although the drives are IDE ATA, Windows reports them as being SCSI
and there is also a SCSI RAID driver. This seems to confirm my
suspicions.
