After installing MS Windows Server 2003 SP1 for 64-Bit Extended Systems Beta
version on my GA-K8N PRO Mboard &
AMD Athlon 3200+, the on-board Realtek Gigabit LAN didn't work. I've
downloaded and installed driver from Realtek web site
(RTL8169/RTL8169S(B)/RTL8110S(B) Windows AMD64bit Beta 1.05) but the
installation failed several times.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks very much.

Yes, it is a bug in the inf-file.

Edit the net8169a.inf file using notepad.exe.
Search for the string: %RTL8169.DeviceDesc% = RTL8169.ndi,
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8169&SUBSYS_816910EC and remove the SUBSYS section
from the line (&SUBSYS_816910EC).
Save the file and quit Notepad.

Now install the driver again usingthe modified inf-file.

Or have a look here:

It works fine wit my K8VT800 Pro.
