I'm wondering if this is an appropriate forum to ask this question....

What is the maximum number of video cards that can be inserted in a
PCI-based computer? I'm thinking of using Windows CE to build an embedded
system.... can WindowsCE support multiple desktops?

Best regards...

Depends alot on the number of PCI slots! But XP supports 10 monitors.
See Start Help, Multiple monitors for more info.

Thanks, Bob.

Does anyone know the maximum number of PCI slots? (Believe it or not, I want
to get up to 13). Is there a manufacturer that produces a PCI bus extension?

That would be WAY outside the scope of this group. I'd start with
www.google.com and search for that. Bus saturation could be an issue
with that many I would think. But good luck and happy hunting!

Thanks, Bob. I see that there are some video cards with 4 and even 8 video
output ports on them. This will obviate the need for so many PCI slots. I
have separately confirmed the upper limit of 10 monitors, as you stated.
