After downloading SP2 on my Sony Laptop, my CDRW/DVD drive will not
recognize any type of DVD media. But recognizes all CD media. I have
reinstalled all decoders, reinstalled all drivers, physically removed drive
and cleaned. Talked to decoder manufacturer, Talked to Sony, went to QSI
website to see if any driver updates are available, (which found out that
they dont make drivers for my model, Windows does) I also noticed when
looking at the properties of a CD running in the drive, It says it is a DVD.
That really confused me.

I am just starting to look through the registry for something that looks wrong

If anyone could kindly help me, It would be greatly appreciated.
