I just bought the Optical Desktop Elite for Bluetooth to use with a Toshiba
laptop running XP SP2. The installation seemed to have gone fine, but neither
the keyboard or mouse are detected. I am using the included USB Bluetooth
radio. Windows says the radio is working correctly. I also have access to
another laptop which has built in Bluetooth. This laptop is still at SP1 but
it at least detects the keyboard and mouse. So I have to believe there is no
problem with these devices.
Should I suspect that I just have a bad Bluetooth USB radio or is likely
there is some sort of configuration problem on the Toshiba laptop? As another
test, I tried to transfer a file between the two laptops using Bluetooth, but
the laptops do not detect each other. Given I know Bluetooth works on the
second laptop, I assume the problem has something to do with Bluetooth that
came with the Desktop Elite. Any suggestions on what I should try would be
appreciated.
