Which is the "official" gigabyte news group? giga-byte or gigabyte? I
try to look through both, and want to post a question, but really want
to be sure I post it on the group most frequented:
Which is (was) the original? And why are there 2?

alt.comp.periphs.mainboard.giga-byte
or
alt.comp.periphs.mainboard.gigabyte

Thank you in advance,
Chalmers

I've found the "gigabyte" site to be much more useful and rarely bother to
look at the giga-byte group any more. I suggest you download several hundred
message headers in each group and then search for messages concerning your
particular motherboard. It won't take you long to come to your own
conclusion.

Thank you, Kilgore.
I will do that.
I do have one question, though ... how do I download the message
headers to peruse? I am using Internet Explorer to access these
groups via Google.

Dump IE get Firefox, Then get a good news reader. I have had good
performance from Forte Agent, it does binary files as well.. There is
a free version at www.forteinc.com. There are other, do a Goggle
search for news readers.
