the fan on my northbridge is extremely noisy. i have taken it off and
cleaned it but still loud.

i am wondering if it is really needed anyway?

My Rev2.0 does not have a fan. But the board does make annoying high
pitched squeals when the onboard LAN is under heavy load and also when
the CPU is under heavy load it makes the same noises.

VERY annoying.
