I just recently saw the Rock in a movie for the first time and thought as an actor he did a good job. Now a buddy just informed me that there is plans for a FarCry movie starring him as Jack Carver. I'm loving the idea. Being a FarCry fan, That would be a must see movie for me whether it gets good reviews or not.

Hmmm. I never found the plot the most appealing thing about FarCry so I'm wondering why they're gonna do a movie on it. May be that it appeals to the gamer/fan community.

Yeah, but I think there's enough of a story line that it could be developed into a pretty good plot. Genetically created/enhanced monsters, pretty scenery, a good looking babe, mad scientist, goons and heavy artillery. Could be worth watching if you're into that sorta thing (I am!).

Reading up more, I guess this is very old news... like February 2004. I've read about it on a few old forums threads now and it seems some people like me think it will be a fun movie to see. Others cough at it as doomed for failure, especially starring the rock. Oh well, I'll still pay $9 to go see it. Or by 2006, will that be $15? :frown:

only problem is that the moviemakers have a long list of actually ruining games after making a crappy movie after it,

theres maybe two movies(that were about games) that i actually liked.

Yeah, I heard about it b4 too. But I saw the Rock in a movie (Scorpion King?) and I thought he did a good job. I was actually thinking at the time he might be the one to replace Arnold Schwartzenegger (sp?), who's now getting too old (and busy as governor) to do many more movies.

I am not at all a pro wrestling fan. So my feeling was the Rock would be a bad actor. But I was surprised too. He was actually funny, and sure does a better job of getting words out than say, Chuck Norris.

I hear what your saying there. I just wonder how into farcry we will all be in 2006 when this movie comes out. I'd like to see the movie now.

Will the movie hurt FarCry II's success? Will they make a Farcry 2 even? Hope so, I'd buy it.

They better make FarCry 2, I'll without a doubt buy it. I went out and bought Doom3, then a couple of days later, I bought a 6800 which came with FarCry, I haven't touched Doom3 since. FarCry is an incredible game, and the graphics are amazing. And to think I thought HalfLife looked good!
