Backing up.

Hi i've just bought a Acer aspire 5742 everytime i switch on after a few minutes i get a pop-up asking me if i wish to : "Click to create Acer factory default backup disc". Can i back up on an flash drive (memory stick) and what size memory would i need. Sorry if this all seems simple to you but i'm green as grass. Thanks

I suspect it wants to create a CD, or possibly DVD. Well worth doing as blank media costs next to nothing and you'll need it if you ever need to restore or repair the OS.

This creates a disk that will allow you to restore the computer to factory condition. It doesn't back up any of your data.

If you are interested in backups use the utility within Windows 7 to create, and just backup a system image every week or so to your pen drive .
