Hi,

I posted about this about days ago and now I see someone else is having the
same problem.

In my case I'm using IDE, not RAID.

I'm installing Windows 2000 Pro now, but I also had the problem with 2000
server

It's a plain vanilla install. Default options. No add on boards except
for the video.

The video is a Matrox G2+

I have a single Western Digital 40GB hard drive.

The system also has a floppy and CD-Rom

All of the peripherals function normally in other systems.

The problem is this. After the setup program finishes and initiates the
final reboot the system hangs in the GUI portion of the reboot at Starting
Windows... with the progress bar almost at the end.

I also found that it would boot to the desktop in safe mode. But that
doesn't help as it still needs normal mode for the final part of the setup.

Any thoughts?

Do I have a lemon that I need to return?
