Hi, my ipaq 2210 is only a month old and already the two rubber side grips
are starting to peel off (at the bottom)
is this common?, and will it be ok to stick them back with superglue, or
does anyone have a better suggestion.

thanks
Jon

search the newsgroup archives, there was a thread about side grips fairly
recently.

This is a known problem, if you contact HP they will send you new grips and
there is an instructional video on the support site for replacing them.

I am ssooo glad I found this subject, I too had the problem of the grips
falling off, (I had a rubber band around my PDA to keep the one grip from
falling off) I contacted HP the other day concerning this problem. Well I
got the replacement grips today via UPS, also included was a replacement
battery door & the Compact Flash holder (I think that's what it's called)
Thanks all of you for this very useful info.

I don't know if anyone else mentioned this but Pocketpctechs.com has some
permanent aluminum grips that you actually screw into the sides of your
iPAQ. I got a set of these because I had been through the grips
replacement cycle quite a few times.

Here's my writeup on them: http://tinyurl.com/2ylh2

I got the replacements for mine the next day after contacting HP, I don't
use the supplied HP Slip case anymore, because I think it is causing the
damage.

Nor do I - I ditched that awful slip-on thing very fast. And I agree
with you about it contributing to the problem. However, I think the
basic design and/or choice of materials is the major issue.
Particularly that strange decision to wrap one sort of rubbery plastic
on top of another type of plastic and wedge the combination onto yet
another plastic.
