I am using iomagic 16x drive (internal/dual format double layer).
I am using it with a IDE to USB kit(the kit let me use internal drives as
an external USB drive,
this kit works fine). When I first used the drive with my laptop, as soon
as I connected the drive
copmputer installed the driver, but then the error came up that there is an
error installing the
drive and the harware may not work properly. The device manager shows
"code10". iomagic technician told
me that it is due to service pack 2 installed on my computer. So I removed
the SP2, but problem
persisted. I decided to format the computer, and reinstall the XP SP1. The
drive was recognised fine
by the computer, but as soon as I installed all the drives (for video, audio
etc) the drive started
showing problems once again. I am using
an Inspiron 5150 with a nVIDIA GEforce GO 5200 video card, Sigma dell audio
driver, broadcom
440x 10/100integrated controller, BroadcomV.92 MDC modem, Intel mobil chip
set.

Second time, formatting the computer also din't help. I am not sure what is
wrong. But I did read that code10 can be due to varoius reason, one of them
is also the balance which has been delt by microsoft, but i could not access
that particular bulletin. I need help of a real professional
