I have the error detected by the "New Hardware found wizard" of Win XP
related to the Secondary Channel of IDE.
If I check the device from the Compuer Management/Device manager/IDE
ATA/ATAPI controllers"
The secondary IDE channel properties screen display:
Device type: IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers
Manufacturer: (Standard IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers)
Location: secondary Channel
Device status:
This device is not configured correctly. (Code 1)
You need to restart your computer before the changes you made to this device
will take affect.
To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver.
The other channel where location is "Primary Channel" works perfectly:
Device status: This device is working properly.
On Primary channel I have a Plextor 4824 CD-Rom as master
On Secondary channel I have a Plextor 716A DVD writer
Do I have to install a driver ?
Why is it not the same as the "primary channel" driver?
Where can I found the driver ? where on the gigabyte CD-ROM or on the Web?
Thanks for your help
Frank
