GA_K8NXP-9 problem

hi all
just got ;-
GA-K8NXP-9 bios F4 (latest)
Athlon64 3500 winchester
2 x 512 corsair matched
ati X800xt pci-e
2 sata HD's (single no raid) all raid options off in bios
1 250gig ide HD
master drive is 74Gb Western Digital Raptor Enterprise (10Krpm,8MB) -
everything runs greate, games ,internet , defraging , moveing 4gig files
from drive to drive,
but every now and then comp frezzes and reboots
it tries to start gets to winxp (sp2) logo reboots again
then its all ok (till next time). it seems to do it just as i ask it to open
a file/folder while i am on the desktop. it feels like the prob i had on my
old system nforce2 chipset which i cured by removeing the nvidia sw ide
driver thing and loading the microsoft one. but when i did that this time
system woundent boot had to load last good config.
any advice appreciated
