Opportunity for Intel to compete for orders.

Really self-explanatory

Doesn't bode well for the US release of the Galaxy S III.

...or Samsung has a huge order in and that's why they're in short supply.

[citation][nom]JAYDEEJOHN[/nom]Both nVidia and Qualcom have been given higher priority for wafers[/citation]

Except TSMC was already running at 95% when they said that, so an extra 5% isn't enough.

TSMC needs to slow down and invest more in current processes. They struggled with yields at 40nm and then decided to push 28nm shortly after they got yields worked out of the previous process. If they are struggling to even get a 40%-50% yield then they obviously have a lot to work on with the process and should work on improving it before trying to make it their primary product. If they are incapable of reaching the levels they want on their own, perhaps they should try to partner up with another company, such as Samsung, in order to produce an effective process technology.
