I am exploring the possibility of building another system based on a
Gigabyte Motherboard using an XP chip. About six months ago I was about to
pull the trigger on a Gigabye ga-7N400 pro2. Is this board still available?
If not what would you recommend as a replacement? What is the fastest AMD
chip that can be installed on the 7N400?

My other concern is what type of video card (agp or should I purchase? I'm
not buying the system for games.

I have that board, a rev2. Had a problem with the first one and sent for a
replacement. ( I think I screwed it up myself, Computer froze and I switched
off the PSU, never rebooted). Got a new one and it's running fine.
Setup is as follows:
AMD AthlonXP 3200+ 400fsb
Corsair Value select PC3200/400 2x512
Quadro FX500 AGP
WD Raptor SATA drive (2)
Thermaltake 480W Butterfly PSU (2 fans)
Thermaltake Silent Boost HS/Fan
(5) 80mm fans in case
Plextor 712A DVD
250meg Zip
All was purchased at newegg.com. I'm using AutoCad, Solidworks & more with
no trouble so far. What I like about this board is that it has (4) IDE
Channels. Might add a small internal IDE drive for backup or go for an
external. I also was using an ATI Fire GL 8700 which worked fine. both cards
us VGA & DVI hookups.

Rudy or anyone else, I just purchased the motherboard and a case from
Adamant.com. Now the fun part starts. What do you think about the Gigabyte
9550 256mb ddr for a video card? I don't play games so it would be strictly
Office and other business related apps.

If I purchase an Athlon Xp 3000+, what is the fastest memory I should
purchase? I am leaning towards the Kingston HyperX 512mb x 2 for a total of
1gig. Should the speed of the chips be pc2700 or pc3000?
