I found some bug in Nvidia "IDE" drivers for K8NF-9.

Any temperature monitoring program hangs the computer, after I installed new
HDD (Seagate SATA 250GB). Previously I had single ATA HDD and monitoring
programs run normally. At the moment they do not.
For example: SpeedFund 4.2.2 hangs after message "SMART enabled for Disk 1".
(Disk 1 is new disk SATA).
This happen regardless SMART is enabled or disabled in BIOS.
Disk 0 is properly recognized as I see message in SpeedFun.
Other programs that hangs the machine: Everest, HwMonitor, HDDTemperature
pro.
It also happens to other people having for example 160GB SATA Caviar.

If You care, please notify Gigabyte about this bug. I already posted some
info to http://ggts.gigabyte.com.tw/.

Although there are some workarounds:
- Uninstalling "IDE" drivers let You use SpeedFun or Everest and check HDD
temperature.
- "SpeedFan /NOSMARTSCAN" will run regardless IDE drivers are installed, but
HDD temperature will not be displayed

Marek

Found a soultion: upgreade BIOS to F3k and install nVidia drivers (nForce
6.53) instead of oryginall Gigabyte.
