problem on USB external hard drive

My sonic external hard drive(usb 2.0,160G) suddenly stoped
working,the little light also stop blinking.

Is it broken?Any idea?

Check if the device is working when connected to another PC.
If its still not working, it might be broken.

To prevent such failures, do this before you plug out USB devices from ur PC.

1. On the taskbar, right-click on the Safely Remove Hardware Icon (the one
wit the green arrow)
2. Select Safely Remove Hardware and select the device which u want to remove.
3. Click stop. You will receive a msg that the device can be removed safely.

No light equals no power. Does your external drive have a powerpac that
plugs into the wall - as mine does? Check your connections. Do you have a
cat? They love to chew wires. I lost 2 that way over the years. (-:
