Someone please help here..

Im using a Sony Vaio latop with Windows XP Pro on it,
almost a brand new laptop, about a month ago i plugged a
external monitor into the back of it and are a short
session of using the external monitor i removed it and
went back to using my LCD screen built into the laptop.

The problem is now whenever I boot my laptop it ALWAYS
says in a small balloon down near the clock "New Hardware
Found" and after about 10 seconds another balloon pops up
saying "Sony LCD 1024x768" , then about 5 more seconds
later a warning box pops up and says:

Your hardware was not installed
ACCESS IS DENIED

and I hit Finish and it goes away, but this is a pain
because this happens EVERY time I boot the machine.

Im logged in as Administrator, can ANYONE give me some
advice on how to fix this please.

Thanks,
Tommy

I must say, this is a IMPOSSIBLE issue. I have reloaded
Service Pack 1, I have reinstalled the DRIVER.CAB files, i
have even edited the registry to make the ballon popup go
away but I still get a box every time I reboot that says
my hardware installation has failed, ACCESS DENIED.

Unreal.
