Windows Animation

I noticed that when Windows XP is first installed, windows animation when
minimizing/maximizing is pretty smooth, but after a while, becomes choppy
and flickering. Why is this, and is there a way to fix it, besides turning
the animation off?

Thanks, Kevin

RAM, RAM and more RAM! though the recommended RAM for XP is 256Mb, that's
good for about a half-hour before such problems arise. I added 512Mb chip a
while back (now running 768Mb) - problem solved, and all apps improved
dramatically.

To answer Why? - once the RAM's used up, XP starts caching to HDD - slower
to access and refresh.

Hope this helps (memory's cheap right now - get as much as you can, it's
cost-effective way to improve any PC).
Sincerely, Len

Also, Defrag the hard drive. When writing files (and caching included),
files become fragmented. Defrag usually helps.

Thanks for the advice. Did adding RAM specifically solve the animation
problem on your computer? thanks Kevin
