I am having problems trying to add memory to my system. At the moment I am
using one double sided 512Mb Pc2700 DDR333 module. I want to upgrade to 1Gb
and Dual Channel mode. Crucial (where I bought the original memory from)
have agreed to replace the original module with a new single sided version
so I have two the same. (To be honest their CS has been very good)...
The problem I have is that the new memory will not work with the 7N400L.
With the original module the system is rock solid.
With a new module in DDR3 and the old one in DDR1, Dual channel is activated
but I got random reboots.
The module wouldn't work properly in DDR1 on it's own. I'd get random
reboots or it would fail to boot at all.
Crucial replaced the new module and I get the same problem with that one as
well. In each case I have reset the BIOS back to safe settings, I have even
tried a full hard reset by removing the MB battery. Someone suggested that
removing the Graphics card prior to removing the battery might help.
All to no avail, any Ideas? If not I am stuck with 512Mb.... :-(
Thanks for your help.
