I am running windows xp home edition. I would like to upgrade my hard drive.
How can I backup all my files on the old hard drive and restore to the new
hard drive?

You need to do a "disk image".

Norton Ghost is probably the market leader. I like Acronis True Image - you
can download a trial version and play with it

BootitNG is another option, but I thought it was more complex than I needed.
