Need MS Souind Recorder to work (it's integrated/utilised in Powerpoint to
add commentary to slides). On brand-new system, get poor/scatchy low volume
recording.

Have "Total Recorder" - using this, I get perfect mic recordings. But,
"Total Recorder" does not integrate into Powerpoint, it's stand-alone.

Since the mic works perfectly in Total Recorder (which has its own drivers)
and the sound chip itself is used for playback, my (lay-man's) analysis is
that it's a driver problem. I should not have to "upgrade" a brand-new
system (add a sound card) to correct it.

Has anyone any idea how to upgrade the quality - my guess is its a driver
problem, BUT I have the latest driver.
