My brother is trying to install an Epson 1260 scanner in XP.
Installation of the first driver available from the Epson site gave him
the "has not passed windows logo testing" diagnostic but he proceeded
anyway. Everything worked and he scanned ok until he rebooted - then
the programs in Start Up didn't start up. He rolled back the driver and
everything was ok. Then he started to install the second driver but
stopped when he got the same diagnostic. Has anyone had this problem
with the 1260? How do you get around it?

Typically you remove the old drivers first then install the new drivers with
the scanner off and usb cable unplugged (ignore the warnings about not
passing windows logo testing as they came from Epson's site.)
