New PC Boots Up Automatically

Just added a new PC running XP Pro to my home network that shares a cable modem through a hub. When one of the other PCs boots up the new PC automatically powers up and boots. Is this a NIC thing, XP thing or ?? How do I prevent this?

Sounds like the "Wake on LAN" aspect is working.

Go into the bios of the machine that starts up automatically and disable the 'wake on lan' feature. U also might disable any other wake on options.

how do you set this up on your computer (wake-up-lan function)? is it a hardware configuration (jumpers and such) or prompt at the bios?

BIOS setting. Probably integrated peripherals.
